Yesterday, I together with Guidedog Rosa felt delighted to attend a very meaningful event – the EmpowerZ Traineeship Pilot Programme Opening Ceremony at the MTRC (Mass Transit Railway Corporation) headquarters in Kowloon Bay.

The EmpowerZ Program provides equal opportunities, other things being equal, for persons with disabilities to work as interns at different service departments of MTRC for one year.

As I know, MTRC provides necessary support and accommodations during their internship. Mr. Kam Chak-Pui, Jacob, the CEO of MTRC, and many department heads of MTRC also came to support such a meaningful program. My good friend and "devil guide runner," Walter Lam, also shared his experience of how to communicate and work with people with disabilities. He also shared his experience of being a guide runner for the Fearless Dragon Running Team. Walter said to the interns at the Ceremony, "MTRC is a big family. Everyone is happy to support and help each other."

Rosa and I wish the EmpowerZ program great success and sincerely hope that each participant in the EmpowerZ Program will gain valuable experience and have a brighter future.
