The hearing-impaired ‘Fearless Dragon’ team (Team number 0349 and 0350: photo 1, photo 2 and photo 3), and first-timers Christian Zheng Sheng Association / Zheng Sheng College team (Team number 0153: photo 4, 5), finished the 100km trail in 27 hours 43 minutes and 25 hours 58 minutes respectively. Bernard Chan, Chair of Oxfam Trailwalker Advisory Committee, greeted the teams at the Finish Point and presented them with certificates.

Mok Kim Wing, Kim, the founder of Fearless Dragon team and Michael Ng, the hearing-impaired walker said, ‘We hope we will be able to encourage more people who have disabilities to come out and challenge themselves through this event. Our example can promote the integration of people with disabilities in society, and promote the spirit of helping people to help themselves’. Last year, the team formed by visually and hearing-impaired walkers completed the trail in 32 hours and 19 minutes, and Mok received the ‘State Street Overcoming the Odds Award 2013’. With the experience gained from last year, the team demonstrated their tenacity and finished strong once again in the gruelling challenge.

With Trailwalker veteran KK Chan as their coach, students from Christian Zheng Sheng Association / Zheng Sheng College participated in the Oxfam Trailwalker for the first time. The College’s principal, Alman Chan said, ‘I believe that every step students take in this journey will show them what it means to persevere and believe in themselves. Through the trailwalking experience and training they will learn important moral values that will enable them reintegrate into society'.
